Dow spikes nearly 670 at close, biggest one-day point gain since 2008

The Dow Jones jumped almost 670 points Monday, closing with its biggest one-day point gain since 2008 and erasing some of the market's huge losses last week, as investors were encouraged by signs that the U.S. and China are open to negotiating to avoid a trade fight.
