Furlough Scheme Rule Changes    

From 1st September, the government will now pay 70% of wages up to a maximum cap of £2,187.50 for the hours the employee is on furlough.

Employers will be required to top up employees’ wages to ensure they receive 80% (up to £2,500). The caps are proportional to the hours not worked.

A national mental health campaign to help people cope during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has now launched.

The Scottish Government’s ‘Clear Your Head’ campaign highlights the practical things people can do to help them feel better and stay positive.

£4 Million Funding for Next Generation of Start-Ups 

The Scottish Government has announced it will create five technology hubs that will be tasked to support at least 300 start-ups by 2025. 

An Ecosystem Fund is also being set up to make strategic investments in the technology sector and plans to establish a formal partnership with the technology industry to drive forward recommendations prepared by tech entrepreneur and former Skyscanner COO,  Mark Logan.

£160 Million Investment for Forestry and Agriculture

Scotland's rural economy will be at the heart of the green recovery as the Scottish Government unveiled an investment plan worth £160 million, which includes an additional £100 million for the Programme for Government for Scottish Forestry to increase new planting and a new £10 million fund for farmers and crofters.
