Sample credentialing checklist

MSPs and credentialing specialists often have the responsibility to make sure that all of the steps in the credentialing process have been executed in the processing of any particular application. This is a critical responsibility because plaintiff attorneys will often claim that missed steps represent negligence on the part of the hospital. Some steps, if not performed timely or if missed entirely, have very little relevance for whether a particular applicant should have his or her requests for privileges approved or denied.
