Downtown Alive, launched to give economic boost, continues to celebrate local culture 40 years later

In another nod to the 200th anniversary of Lafayette Parish, we take a look at the Downtown Alive! series and how it helped bring energy back to downtown Lafayette. Now in its 40th year, the event has turned into "how we kick off our weekends," said DDA CEO Anita Begnaud.

These days, Downtown Alive! is only one part of a full weekend calendar in Lafayette.
