Deerfield Park District COVID-19 Community Update on Park District Operations JUNE 10, 2020
As we move through Phase 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan, we can now provide additional services and programs. Listed below is more information relating to some of those expansions of services:
Tennis: We will be installing nets at all park district owned courts this week. This will double the inventory available within the parks. We have also expanded the reservation time slots to include early mornings and evenings until 10 pm at Mitchell Park. We will stop taking reservations for courts on July 1. From that point on, courts will be first come, first serve as they have been in the past.
Basketball Courts: All district courts will be opened this week. Please keep in mind that Phase 3 permits gatherings of no more than 10 people.
Dog Park: The dog park at Jaycee Park will be opened later this week as well. There will be no reservations system in place. We ask that you comply with Phase 3 requirements of no more than 10 people within the park at one time and be considerate of others looking to use the park.
Public Restrooms: We will open public restrooms located in the parks on July 1.
Aquatics: The district will open Mitchell Pool on July 6. Schedules for lap swimming, lessons and open swim are being developed and more information will be provided in the future.
Patty Turner Center: Patty Turner Center will re-open on August 17 for small group programs. More information on those programs will be forthcoming. Virtual programming offered by PTC will begin next week.
Playgrounds: Playgrounds remain closed until additional state and county guidelines are provided.
Skatepark: The skatepark area at Jewett Park is still under construction and is currently not available for use.
Further information on any of these programs and services will continually be updated on the district’s website. Thank you again for your perseverance in helping us get to a time where we can safely open and operate facilities and offer more services.
