Jackson County Democrats Virtual Election Night Event!

Join the Jackson County Democrats for a Virtual Open House to watch the local election results roll in on Tuesday November 3rd from 8:00-9:00 PM. Hosted by Nathan Soltz with commentary and analysis by Oregon State Senator Jeff Golden and Oregon State Representative Pam Marsh.

Oregon State Senator Jeff Golden was a well known local media personality hosting news and information shows on both Jefferson Public Radio and Southern Oregon Public Television before running for state office in Oregon. He is a former Jackson County Commissioner and has authored several books.

Oregon State Representative Pam Marsh was the director of the Ashland Emergency Food Bank before seeking her seat in the Oregon legislature. She has served on the Ashland City Council and the Ashland Planning Commission.

Displaced? Here's How to Make Sure You Get Your Ballot!

Update Your Mailing Address. To vote in Oregon, you must provide a the county with a physical address. This could be a shelter, a church, a social service agency, or any other identifyable location (including your county elections office). Voters who have been displaced or lost their homes should update their mailing address, even though their legal address is still the site of their lost home. Any Oregon voter can pick up their ballot directly from the county elections office if necessary.
Staying in another County? Request a Provisional Ballot. You can request a provisional ballot at any county elections office, and vote in a different county than you are registered in. To obtain a provisional ballot you need to fill out a Provisional Ballot Request Form in person at the county elections office.
Election Day is Tuesday November 3rd! Ballots are due by 8PM on Tuesday November 3rd. Postage is no longer required to mail your Oregon ballot. You may drop your ballot off at any drop site up until 8PM on November 3rd.

Join the JCD Central Committee and Become a PCP!

A lot is at stake for Jackson County! The more people who volunteer, the better our community becomes! Will you help us?

Consider becoming a Precinct Committee Person (PCP)! All Democratic Party Precinct Committee Persons in Jackson County belong to the Central Committee (CC), which is the governing body of the Democratic Party of Jackson County. As a PCP, you have a voice and vote in the party when we make decisions that affect your community. Click here to fill out our PCP application!

As a PCP, you are the party’s grassroots, representing your neighbors to the party. For every 500 registered voters in a precinct, there can be one precinct person of each gender (male, female, non-binary).

What are the prerequisites for becoming a PCP?

Your primary residence must be within Jackson County.
You must be registered as a Democrat at your Jackson County address. If you are unsure about your voter status or are not currently registered as a Democrat, look up your voter status and/or re-register as a democrat.

How do I become a PCP?

To be elected as a PCP, you need to run for election during the May Primary Election that is held during even-numbered years. The next chance to be an elected PCP will be in May 2022.
To be appointed as a PCP, please complete our Precinct Committee Person Application and email it to us at vicechair@jcdemocrats.org. Once you application is submitted, your appointment is submitted for a vote at a Jackson County Democrats Central Committee meeting (every 4th Thursday of the month).

What can I do once I'm a PCP?

Have a voice and vote in the party when we make decisions that affect your community. Vote on resolutions and ballot measures that affect the people of Southern Oregon!
Join a Committee! We have amazing people working in Jackson County to create meaningful change.
The Campaign Committee is the primary campaign arm of the county party, handling all campaign business for candidates and ballot measures. The Communications Committee maintains our website and all social media sites. The Community/Voter Outreach Committee is in charge of involvement in fairs, festivals, parades, marches, rallies, and protests. The Neighborhood Leader Program Committee oversees the Neighborhood Leader Program and helps Get Out the Vote for elections. The Platform & Resolutions Committee handles all proposed resolutions of the party and organizes the Jackson County Democratic Party Platform Convention.
- The Platform & Resolutions Committee is currently looking for help! The amount of work that goes into researching and writing good resolutions is large, so the committee is looking for PCPs to submit resolutions and help with research. PCPs can write their own resolutions or submit those from other locations and organizations. Join us!
