It’s been four years since Boston Dynamics declared Spot robot ready for the workplace. In that time, the quadruped robot has been trialed in various roles at a number of firms, and currently finds itself sniffing around a Michelin plant in South Carolina. Wayne Pender, a reliability manager at Michelin whose job it is to ensure that the facility’s equipment is running properly, said in a video that his co-workers “were like kids at Christmas when we first got Spot.” Spot helps out by scanning 350 locations with a thermal camera to see if anything along the production is overheating, with onboard software sending alerts to a human team that can then review the situation before deciding on the response ... |

The just-released iOS 18.2 beta includes ChatGPT integration, so if users bring up Siri and ask it a question that it can’t handle, the request will be offloaded to OpenAI’s more advanced ChatGPT chatbot, Digital Trends reported. There's also Visual Intelligence, which can do things like identify scanned objects or read posters and create calendar events from dates on it. Another notable arrival is Image Playground, which is essentially Apple’s take on text-to-image functionality. Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is getting a much-needed update today that aims to reassure fans after recent changes made the game difficult to play, Digital Trends reported. The backlash to Update 4.0 prompted angry players to review-bomb Space Marine 2 on the game's Steam page. Update 4.1 from developer Saber Interactive brings a ton of changes, along with a response to the controversial changes that upset so many players.
