We had a great time at IBC this month, and our immersive Dolby Atmos system was put to good use every single day.

Dual Core 256 Setup on the Road with Post Malone

We have been mentioning from time to time how our audio routing and conversion solutions are also perfectly suited for live sound applications. Well, here is yet another piece of evidence to support that case!
Sound engineer William Linton was kind to send us this photo along with the message about his two Core 256 units: "It's been my secret weapon for the past 70 shows with Post Malone."
We have already agreed on doing an interview so please stay tuned, as a proper user story with much more details on this live sound setup is in the making...

Core 256 + Mac Mini = 💪😎🤘

We were not the only ones at IBC 2023 with an immersive audio setup, as Solid State Logic (SSL) also had one, which was run by Core 256 and a Mac Mini sharing our custom rack shelf.
It acted as the playback system where the Mac Mini fed all of the audio tracks via Thunderbolt to Core 256 that converted them to Audinate Dante and distributed them on the AoIP network.

Pierce Goes Atmos

Our UK partner HHB assisted London based studio Pierce Entertainment to seamlessly upgrade its main studio to a Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 mix environment. The studio is especially suited for the format as the main room at Pierce Entertainment was initially built for 5.1 mixing and thus already sonically perfect for Dolby Atmos.
Moving forward simply made sense and the room would quickly be put to the test on Sam Smith’s latest album “Gloria” as both the stereo and Dolby Atmos versions would be mixed by Steve Fitzmaurice at Pierce Entertainment.
We don't know what runs behind the scenes, but given the MOM on the desk, an AX64, AX32 or MTRX seems like a good guess!
