• An impending bill that will overhaul state-tribal relations will test how willing Maine is to repair its relationship with its indigenous tribes.
  
  A task force of lawmakers and tribal leaders has worked for months to craft changes to the Maine Indian Claims Settlement Act, the state law tribes say has subverted their federal rights for 40 years.

• Superintendent Betsy Webb offered a preliminary look at the school system’s 2020-21 budget Wednesday during a joint meeting of the Bangor School Committee and City Council.

• A Blue Hill man posted a singles ad seeking a companion for his duck at a local co-op after she appeared to be feeling blue because a bobcat snatched her two fellow ducks from the Morris’ yard on Dry Moon Lane about three weeks ago.

• Facing a proposed tuition hike from George Stevens Academy, the seven towns that send their high school students to the school say they want to know more about the school's operations and want a greater say in how it runs.
