A swath of 1 to 3 inches will fall into Tuesday evening for the northern half of the state. In southern Minnesota we could see a dusting to a coating. Duluth looks to 'tiny homes' to help ease housing crunch

In a bid to help create more housing of all types and sizes, Duluth has changed its rules to encourage the construction of very compact houses, often called “tiny homes.” Many think other cities should follow suit.

“When you're trying to shape an economy that's good for the entire population, you've got people in different parts of their lives that want different sizes of houses,” said Adam Fulton, Duluth’s planning and economic development director.

Feds join probe into fire at problem Minneapolis property

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has joined the probe into a weekend fire at an apparently vacant apartment building in Minneapolis, one of two gutted by fire and listed to the same Minneapolis property owner that has become the focus of concern by city officials.

Firefighters were called to the four-story building around 6 a.m. on Saturday and pulled up to what appeared to be a vacant and boarded building on fire, Minneapolis Fire Department officials said.

'An incredibly strong place’ – huge budget surplus expected. A multi-billion dollar surplus is expected as officials release Minnesota’s budget outlook Tuesday, setting the table for what the governor lawmakers can spend during the 2023 legislative session.  

The Minneapolis Institute of Art welcomes Valéria Piccoli, its first-ever curator of Latin American art. The Minneapolis Institute of Art has created a new position: For the first time, they will have a Curator of Latin American Art. After a global search, the MIA tapped Valéria Piccoli, who, for the past 12 years, was the chief curator of the Pinacoteca de São Paulo, one of the largest art museums in Brazil.  

Prinsburg, Minn. drops Texas-style anti-abortion lawsuit plan. Prinsburg has backed away from a proposal to let people sue abortion providers, including organizations that provide abortion drugs by mail, after the state’s attorney general warned that the plan was unconstitutional.
