Botched identification: Another family is left with questions after the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office failed to properly identify a body. Sidney Smith's son, Justin, disappeared in mid June and his body turned up at the morgue just four days later. But it would be almost a month before Sidney would learn what had happened to his son, whom he'd spent weeks searching for. Ben Myers and WWL-TV's David Hammer have the story. Ferry terminal finished: It took almost a decade, but the Regional Transit Authority has completed the new, $43.5 million terminal for the Canal Street-Algiers Point Ferry. Sophie Kasakove has the details. Fire and heat: One of the largest wildfires in Louisiana's recent history is burning in Beauregard Parish, and firefighters say the blaze is not yet under control. Tristan Baurick has the latest on the evacuations it is prompting in several communities near the Texas border. Meanwhile, Gov. John Bel Edwards says the statewide burn ban is not being followed, and he warns of potentially tragic results. James Finn has the details. It's all happening, of course, against the backdrop of near record temperatures across the state (see how New Orleans' record fared). Drew Broach has that story. Interested in environmental news?
