VP Mike Pence Visits Columbia
Last Thursday, I welcomed Vice President Mike Pence to Columbia to tour an Opportunity Zone and discuss how the program will help to transform communities across the nation. We toured and talked to the people of The Meeting Place, located in one of Northeast Columbia’s Opportunity Zones.

It was inspiring to both myself and Vice President Pence to see The Meeting Place as an example of not only great ministry, but also a place of blossoming business, partnership and success. The people of this community truly poured their hearts and faith into this project, and I believe they will lead the way in restoring opportunity in the area.

SC Drug Court Association Annual Conference
Yesterday, I was happy to chat with the SC Association of Drug Court Professionals in Charleston for their annual conference. The work that South Carolina Drug Courts are doing is essential to lowering recidivism, reunifying families, and making our communities safer.
