Today, we celebrate Veterans Day. We honor the over 18 million men and women that have worn our nation’s uniform and put their lives on the line for the cause of freedom. In South Carolina alone, we honor the over 400,000 veterans in every corner of our state.

With two brothers who served in the military, I know firsthand the sacrifices our veterans and their families have made in order to protect and serve our amazing country. Not only do our veterans and their families exemplify dedication and commitment, they contribute significantly to communities around the country, and around South Carolina, even after they have taken off the uniform.

May we each pause today to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans, and remember to stop and say thank you to every veteran we see. Their bravery, allegiance, and heroism make me proud to be an American. Our veterans are true American heroes, and we should continue to honor them today and every day.

To all of our veterans this weekend- your courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten & we thank you today and every day.
