ICYMI @e3e77916db, |
The HackerNoon mobile app has just got a ✨ major ✨ update!
From the many new features added, we think you’ll be particularly excited with one: writing made available on the app! 💚 You can now write wherever you are, even without a laptop at hand! |

|
How to write on the app? |
|
1. Open your app and click the new writing icon 📝 (bottom, second one from left)
2. You’ll see all your current drafts. Select one to edit or start a new draft by clicking the “NEW” button at the top.
3. Once on the draft, you can write, delete, and edit it as you like and fill in all the story settings as you would on the desktop version. Drafts created on the app will be autosaved and can be opened/edited on the web version.
4. Submit the draft by clicking “Submit Story for Review” and you’re done!
On the app’s writer dashboard, you’ll also notice some drafts have a "published" sticker on top of the header image - this means that this draft is no longer a draft but a published story and that any changes you make will be reflected on the live version. |

Other new features include... |
|
1. Home screen: If you compare your app pre and post-update, you'll notice bigger story cards for trending stories and all the 13 translation options available on HackerNoon - pick a language and you'll see a page with trending stories and a compilation of articles in different tech categories, all in your desired language.
2. New Pixelated Icons on The Footer: These icons hold the same meaning as in the original app version except for the writing icon which substitutes the trending stories page and directs you to the brand-new writing dashboard.
3. Hide Your Playlist: Remember this feature? Now you can hide away your playlist icon from your main screen. Just drag the icon where you want it to be or go to profile settings and click "hide playlist icon."
4. Light and Dark Mode: Our devs have also launched light and dark modes for your preference. Just change your phone's settings and see the app adapt. |
