Early voting begins Friday for general election

BY JESSICA WILLIAMS | Capitol News Bureau Editor

Early voting: Early voting begins Friday for the Nov. 18 general election, Tyler Bridges reports. Voters will choose a new secretary of state, attorney general and treasurer. Here's what else is on the ballot.

Landry and New Orleans: "We want it to operate like... Charleston," Gov.-elect Jeff Landry said this week when asked about his transition team's focus on New Orleans. Still unclear is just what Landry and his team intend for the city, Ben Myers and James Finn report.

Test score drama: Gov. John Bel Edwards has agreed to let seniors with poor test scores graduate, bucking state lawmakers who voted against that idea last month, Ellyn Couvillion reports. It's unlikely Edwards' decision will stand once Landry assumes office in January.
