| Sustainable, Eco-friendly Kitchen Updates |
If you’re like me, you spend a ton of time in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. Between food wrappers, food scraps, and used cleaning products, most of my household waste comes from the kitchen. Hopefully, you’re already aware that you should be recycling and not wasting food, but those are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to creating an eco-friendly kitchen. With Earth Day coming up, it’s a perfect time to increase our sustainability quotients. What does that mean? First and foremost, it means taking steps to protect the planet—reducing your carbon footprint, contributing as little as possible to the landfills, and not polluting the environment in and around your home. A sustainable lifestyle is also one that you can afford and which you find enjoyable. Today we’re going to count down 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 way(s) to be more sustainable in the kitchen. Read More |

| | Rest Pause Training: How to Do Myo Reps |
The Primal Blueprint is all about maximizing the efficiency of training to reduce the time spent working and increase the time spent playing. If I can figure out the minimum effective dose and get 80% of the benefits in 20% of the time, I’m all for that. It leaves me extra time to spend with my loved ones, play outdoors, go for hikes, or buckle down and get some work done. Especially if I don’t cut any corners or shortchange myself. This is why I love microworkouts, where instead of spending hours in the gym I just do movements and exercises throughout the day—have “exercise snacks”—and accrue a large training load without feeling like I spent all day in the gym. But microworkouts aren’t the only path to make exercise more efficient, or at least feel that way. There’s also something called rest pause training, or myo rep training. Read More |

Sleep Like Your Life Depends on It, with Matteo Franceschetti |
Today we are welcoming Matteo Franceschetti, the CEO of Eight Sleep, a company focused on using technology to help people optimize their sleep, fitness, and efficiency. Most health coaches know that sleep is one of the most important, impactful, and often overlooked aspects of health improvement and maintenance. Matteo’s point of view is that we should be putting as much mental energy into our sleep workouts as we do our fitness workouts, which is a really interesting point of view if you ask us! Sleep, for most of us, is just the thing that happens at the end of the day and as health coaches, we often see a lack of intention around our client’s sleep schedules and routines. Eight Sleep produces products that help thermoregulate the body to enhance deep sleep. The science of sleep is one that is ready for the spotlight and Sleep Eight is leading the charge. In today’s episode, we discuss how to get the most out of your sleep, what you can do, and not do, to improve your sleep, how Eight Sleep can help improve the efficiency of your sleep, and much more. Matteo is a wealth of knowledge on the subject and it was a joy to pick his brain. We hope you enjoy! Listen Now |
