EAT 2020 back to the fields

Latest information from the Black Sea area in our spring reports

We are back to the fields in Romania this week and going to assess wheat conditions in Russia, Ukraine and Germany in April.

The winter has been cold and long in the Black Sea area, the autumn was dry in the large part of wheat-producing regions, so it’s important to check if there is no damage after the snow melts.

We are doing wheat condition assessment with our own methodology, created in 2015. We also contact farmers and elevators to get their opinion and to check our estimates.

Just like every year, we will prepare detailed reports with the production forecasts for each country.

Next steps:

In June, we plan to travel to each country. If there are no travel restrictions, we will offer our clients to come with us to assess crop conditions and meet several operators. We will then send a report, two or three weeks before the harvest, showing our final yield and production estimations for each country.
