If your spinach, chard, spinach beet or other similar leafy vegetables have been ruined by slugs and bugs, don't altogether despair. Snip off the ragged leaves and put them in the compost (or feed them to your guinea pig or chickens if you have any).

I had never grown weigela. I learned a lot in a short amount of time. First, I learned just how easily cuttings can be rooted. 4-6 inch tips taken from the plant, inserted into soil and covered with a clear plastic dome will readily root. It takes about 6 weeks for good root formation.

Killing Vines Without Damaging Soil

I heard this solution on the French radio. It was given by the chief gardener of the Versailles palace in France. It works to get rid of vines like bindweed using strong systemic herbicide but without damaging the soil or other plants.
