FROM EBF MEMBERS SBA: Innovation in the EU tax area The Council of the European Union (EU) reached an agreement on a tax modernisation project for the European capital market. According to the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA), once this project is implemented, shares and bonds issued in EU member states will become more attractive to investors. Read more (FR) Finance Latvia: Small and medium-sized companies are in no hurry to introduce AI Few entrepreneurs today doubt the possibilities and usefulness of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. However, the survey of small and medium-sized companies in the Baltic states found that at least 60% of local entrepreneurs still do not consider artificial intelligence to be one of the most important directions of development. Febelfin and the Antwerp Public Prosecutor's Office warn against a growing phenomenon of fraud cases perpetrated by people who claim to be bank card collectors. FROM THE INSTITUTIONS ECB: Account of June monetary policy meeting The European Central Bank (ECB) has published the account of the monetary policy meeting of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank held in Frankfurt am Main on Wednesday and Thursday, 5-6 June 2024. Read more BIS: Cryptoasset disclosures As reported by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), the Basel Committee approves disclosure framework and capital standard for banks' cryptoasset exposures and amendments to interest rate risk in the banking book standard, and agrees to consult on third-party risk principles.
