Loan program application deadline extended to Dec. 31

Applications for the Economic Injury Disaster Loan program for the COVID-19 pandemic will be accepted pending availability of funds for the loans, which include an interest rate of 3.75% for small businesses and 2.75% for nonprofits.

County business license renewal deadline is March 15

With Richland County offices closed because of COVID-19, all businesses, including home-based ones, must renew their licenses online or by mail by March 15. The county recently mailed renewal applications to about 10,000 businesses.

Hemp farming applications being accepted for 2021 season

South Carolina farmers can apply until Feb. 28 to the S.C. Department of Agriculture to grow hemp in 2021. Applicants must apply online, show proof of residency and attend an orientation.

Preservation and conservation grants now available

The application deadline for the Richland County grants, worth up to $50,000, is Feb. 5. Nonprofits, neighborhood organizations, governmental agencies and other organizations can apply for the grants, which require a 20% match.
