| Good evening Voornaam Hello from The Scotsman. It has been quite the week in Scottish news, with evidence from the UK Covid Inquiry's hearings in Edinburgh dominating the agenda. Some of the most-read pieces on the week's events have included: You can be assured of our continuing coverage into next week, including Nicola Sturgeon's evidence on Wednesday. For all that this week's hearings have contained a great deal of substance (and a lot of news) it has also felt like a warm-up for her session: there are a lot of questions for her to answer, and that is a matter to which we will turn this weekend, in tomorrow's Scotsman, Scotland on Sunday and, of course, scotsman.com. If your mind is drifting towards the weekend sport (and I know mine is) there's plenty of news there: the big shock is today's announcement by Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, that he will leave the club after nine gloriously successful years, this summer. Rangers have also signed a player - the tricky attacking midfielder Mohamed Diomande - while Celtic have secured their existing star, Cameron Carter-Vickers, on a new long-term deal that sees him contracted to the club until 2029. And finally, if you were a fan of Sex and the City then you may be interested to know its author, Candace Bushnell, is coming to Scotland next month. She's the cover star in our Saturday magazine, and subscribers will be able to read our exclusive interview with her on scotsman.com too. However you're planning your weekend, I hope it's a good one. And thankyou, as ever, for your interest in The Scotsman - remember that if you're not a subscriber yet, you can join us in a minute (and for just £1 in the first month).
