Fair & Equitable Housing
Investigative nonprofit, the Housing Rights Initiative. has accused over 200 California landlords and real estate agents of discriminating against Section 8 voucher holders, filing complaints with the state's Civil Rights Department. The nonprofit's findings show a 70% refusal rate in Los Angeles, prompting calls for better enforcement and additional funding to uphold the law and ensure fair housing opportunities for all voucher holders.

In separate appearances, Federal Reserve Governor Adriana Kugler and Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic discussed the competing risks that the central bank is attempting to manage as it eases monetary policy. Bostic noted that the threats facing the labor market have increased, although the economy is resilient. "While I believe the focus should remain on continuing to bring inflation to 2%, I support shifting attention to the maximum-employment side of the FOMC's dual mandate as well," Kugler said.
