British Council, CHED present initial findings of new Philippine TNE study |

The British Council, in cooperation with the Commission on Higher Education, presented the preliminary findings of the Study on the Capacity Building and Institutional Development of Higher Education in the Philippines through Transnational Education (TNE) last 24 October. The study builds on the growing interest of local institutions with TNE and identifies the developmental needs to support such initiatives. Read the story. |

DLSU, SMEC join UK-East Asia education forum in Malaysia |

The De La Salle University (DLSU) and South Manila Educational Consortium (SMEC) took part in the UK–East Asia Higher Education Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last 31 October 2019. Organised by the British Council, in collaboration with the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the forum focused on the contribution of higher education institutions to local, regional and global development. HECTOR team receives capacity support from TNE experts |

A series of capacity-building activities were conducted last October together with the technical team of the CHED-funded project Higher Education Cooperation towards Transnational Education Open Resource (HECTOR). The training, which sought to refine the objectives of the project and establish its management structure, is a follow-up to the session on database management led by British Council Higher Education Advisor Kevin van Cauter last August. The Inclusion, Mobility and Multilingual Education Conference 2019 |

by Ms Ruth Tabuniar, Learning and Development Specialist, National Teachers College The Asia Pacific Multilingual Working Group, composed of the British Council and other international non-governmental organisations, led the 13th Language and Development Conference last 24–26 September at the Amari Watergate in Bangkok, Thailand. The conference, dubbed as The Inclusion, Mobility and Multilingual Education Conference: Exploring the Role of Languages for Education and Development, was attended by over 400 international participants with over 100 presentations in parallel and plenary sessions. iPRIME Study team pilots learning modules for primary care providers in remote rural Philippines |

Ong, MD, MBA The Ateneo de Manila University Center for Health Evidence, Action, and Leadership, through the Newton Fund funded iPRIME Study, has recently conducted a pilot implementation of an innovative module on Team Leadership and Health Facility Management for primary care teams. The pilot implementation was conducted last 15-17 October 2019 at the Municipality of Bobon in the Province of Northern Samar. Read the story. |
