COVID-19 testing in S.C. nursing homes to begin next week

The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control will begin the first phase of testing in the state’s 194 nursing homes on Monday. Facilities have been notified of the testing, which DHEC expects to complete by the end of May.

University of South Carolina to resume classes this fall

In-person instruction will resume on USC’s Columbia campus in mid-August. The university said it will implement a plan that will include COVID-19 testing for all students, faculty and staff, as well as social distancing.

AccelerateSC website directs businesses to resources

The COVID-19 resource site accelerate.sc.gov will direct users on how to file for unemployment while also leading them to employment opportunities and information about the state’s revitalization efforts, according to a news release.
