Gretchen Bandoli, Shana Hayes, and Erin Delker Many studies have documented the harmful effects of heavy prenatal alcohol exposure on a childs development. However, as described in this ARCR review, there is no consensus on the level of harm that low to moderate prenatal alcohol exposure may cause. The authors describe various methodological issues that may contribute to inconsistencies found in existing studies and propose alternative study designs for future research that may lead to more conclusive results.
