Hallo John Do, Fledermäuse – für die einen irgendwie ein bisschen gruselig, für die anderen faszinierende Kreaturen der herandämmernden Nacht. Am Anfang der Corona-Pandemie wurde den kleinen Säugetieren eine eher unrühmliche Rolle zuteil. Man hatte sie im Verdacht, den Erreger SARS-CoV-2 auf den Menschen übertragen zu haben. Welchen Ursprung das neuartige Coronavirus hat, ist jedoch nach wie vor ungeklärt. Sicher ist aber: Angst, dass Fledermäuse in Deutschland Menschen anstecken könnten, braucht niemand zu haben.
