The deadline to receive ballots is 8:00 PM on Election Day: Tuesday May 16th!
Weâre working hard to activate our voters in this election, which historically has very low turnout. Weâre up against a well funded and determined alliance of far right groups. However, we have evidence that more and more Democrats and NAVs (non-affiliated voters) are becoming aware of just how important Special District Elections are to the future of our democracy. Our Neighborhood Leaders are reporting that voters are super appreciative of our efforts to educate them about this election. Weâve had numerous living room meetings where more than 100 voters showed a keen interest in these board races â and they wanted to know what they can do to help prepare for future elections.
We have plans developing, and weâre going to help these voters find a fulfilling way to help out. Whatever happens May 16th, weâll take a breather and get back to work. If our candidates win, we wonât rest on our laurels. If they lose, weâll redouble our efforts for the next election. Our local party will focus this summer and fall on its three top priorities: 1) building our base of volunteers, 2) continuing our outreach to NAVs and young voters, and 3) getting prepared for the 2024 election cycle.
Can you see yourself getting involved? Would you like to explore the options? Fill out our interest form and let us know about your interests, your skills, and your passions. Letâs have a conversation!

In a county like ours, sometimes itâs easy to think you are the only Democrat in the neighborhood. Perhaps thatâs true in a few corners of the county, but hereâs the reality: There are 43,557 registered Dems in Jackson County, according to the latest count by the Secretary of State. That oughta hearten us all. As Michael Moore would say, now itâs time for us to find one another.
The Outreach Team is doing something about that. We had 30 volunteers for our information booth at the recent Pear Blossom Street Fair. We had a lot of great conversations with people from all over â including many teens and 20-somethings (think Gen Z). We also had great conversations at Rogue Earth Day, held at The Farm on the SOU campus.
Next weâll be at Gold Dust Days in Gold Hill on Saturday, June 3rd. Weâve applied for a booth at Medford PRIDE on June 24th, plus weâre hoping to participate in Medfordâs Juneteenth celebration. Why donât you come out to see us at these events? Better yet, fill out our volunteer interest form. Letâs discuss the volunteer opportunities available to you!

Speaking of volunteer opportunities, the Neighborhood Leader Program is looking for a few good Democrats â Democrats who recognize the importance of voting in every election and want to make sure the Dems in their own neighborhood turn out.
Whatâs that, you say? âWe donât have any Democrats in my neighborhood.â You might be surprised. Letâs talk about it. Send an inquiry to NLP@jcdemocrats.org.
