Elevating north Lafayette

BY ADAM DAIGLE | Acadiana Business Editor

If you don't live in north Lafayette, you may not have heard of the Elevate Northside program, an entrepreneurship course put on by the Louisiana Entrepreneurship and Economic Development Center at UL-Lafayette.

Now in its third year, many people have come into the program with an idea and come out of it with a strategy for their business idea.

But the benefits are so much more than that, said LEED director Geoff Stewart. The participants, he says, have coalesced around their shared dreams for their lives and support each other. There's even a hastag for the movement: #noW2.

Stewart and his program manager, Jonathan Shirley, talked to me last week about the program and how it's changing lives.

You can read the full report here.

Have a great day and thanks for reading.
