Asian food is such a great fit for the late days of the Australian summer when the humidity is high and the care factor for cooking is low. This week, our contributing cook Elizabeth Hewson provides the perfect solution for feeding a crowd with her take on a fresh, healthy Vietnamese salad. This vermicelli salad features wonderful tastes of Asia without being tricky or complicated and her lemongrass pork patties are flavoursome and easy to achieve too. Delicious February food.

Meanwhile if you have a house full of children or grandchildren returning to school, you may appreciate Justine Schofield's approach to family food. New mother Justine looks for satisfying and uncomplicated food that children and adults alike can enjoy when they come in hungry after long days. Here she offers us three easy recipes: a family meat pie, a tuna and potato pie and a simple and economical chicken drumstick stew. Something for everyone.

Happy eating.

L’Enclume, which has three Michelin stars, will return in July for a second residency, with a $590-a-head 14-course tasting menu.
