Shelter woes: Officials with Mayor LaToya Cantrell's administration overseeing the city's low-barrier homeless shelter were aware of the facility's staffing problems, security shortcomings, drug use and sanitation issues for at least a year before they became public. This is according to emails obtained by The Times-Picayune. Sophie Kasakove has the story.
Abroad again: Mayor Cantrell has flown to Doha, Qatar, to take part in an economic forum. It comes on the heels of a trip to Montreal and is the eighth since the summer of 2022. We've got the details here.
