Welcome back, New Orleans food lovers! This week, dining reporter Ian McNulty brings us a first look at the renovated, reopening Emeril's Restaurant. The Audubon Clubhouse is back, now part of the Dickie Brennan group. Other restaurants are stepping up to fill the Peppermill breakfast gap. Meanwhile in Mid-City, Parkview Tavern will be forced to move, and in Metairie,  Las Cruces stakes its claim near a busy transit crossing.  Finally, it's not too soon to start gathering classic New Orleans recipes for your Thanksgiving dinner.

1. Like father, like son?

Emeril’s Restaurant, among the most influential in modern American dining, closed in July for a major revamp. With 20-year-old E.J. Lagasse, son of Emeril Lagasse, at the helm, the landmark reopened this week. Ian McNulty has the story.

2. Park yourself here. 

The club sandwich is still on the menu, but other items have been added and elevated as local restaurant group Dickie Brennan and Co. puts its stamp on the Audubon Clubhouse in Audubon Park. More changes are coming, Ian McNulty reports.

Drago’s is just one of the restaurants that have added breakfast service in response to the closure of Riccobono's Peppermill. Loyal regulars at Parkview Tavern were stunned recently to learn that their favorite Mid-City watering hole has lost its space, and the Tex-Mex spot Las Cruces creates a family-friendly destination in Metairie.
