Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr's office signed off on the deal with a 13-page report released Friday.
 
About half of Emory University's employees live in DeKalb Medical's primary service area, Emory Healthcare's top executive tells HealthLeaders.
 
DeKalb Medical's three hospitals will take on the Emory name.

 
The organizations expect to finalize everything in about three weeks, effective September 1.
