Friend, chances are cancer has touched you or someone in your life. Whether it’s a parent lost, a child in remission or a best friend newly diagnosed, we all know a person for whom we’d like to end cancer.
Please give to The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center now to help end cancer for your loved one or the millions of others who face this devastating disease each day.
Twins Roxana and Ana Lopez would end cancer for their entire family. Their mother died of breast cancer when they were only 17. Several aunts and cousins also had breast cancer or ovarian cancer. And Roxana was shocked to learn she had stage II invasive ductal carcinoma when she was just 25.
The twins and their brothers all carry the BRCA 1 mutation, which increases the risk of developing breast and ovarian cancers. Roxana and Ana both opted for preventive double mastectomies and now spread the word about the importance of genetic testing and prevention.
