Good evening,

Euronext-listed utilities group Engie is seeking to sell up to 50 per cent of its 250-megawatt Goorambat East Solar Farm in Victoria, just as it prepares to commence construction in the third quarter.

Street Talk understands Engie is willing to bring in a co-investor on the development, which will be spread across 630 hectares and house up to 500,000 solar photovoltaic panels. Its adviser, Rothschild & Co, is expected to mail out teasers this week, sources said. Non-binding indicative offers are due mid-June.

The project, originally purchased from fellow Frenchie Neoen, is being shopped as shovel-ready. Planning permits for connection assets and the PV array are in place, and everything should be up and running by 2026.

From there, the site has scope to add a 500 megawatt-hour battery energy storage system, according to the sell-side pitch.

Of note, Engie is understood to have shortlisted a blue-chip lender lineup, including ANZ Group, BNP Paribas and Deutsche Bank, to stump up Goorambat’s debt financing.

Macquarie’s trading desk dominated in on-market block trades in April, increasing its market share to 17.4 per cent from 14.6 per cent in the previous month and 8.7 per cent in January. The firm did brisk business helping investors transition large mandates away from active managers, shifting the dial on who can nab large fees.

The sharemarket ended the session flat on Monday as consumer stocks offset losses in energy a day before the federal budget.
