| Many wireless applications rely on remote battery-powered electronics, and with the explosion of IoT these are set to be numbered in billions. Power for these sensors, meters, remote data concentrators, gateways and more, is often only practically available from an integral battery which may need to be physically small with consequent limited energy storage.
