In test and measurement equipment, multiple factors in the path from test point to measurement point can distort the measured signal. These can include inconsistent physical connections to the signal wire; capacitances, resistances and inductances introduced into the signal path; impinging radiated and conducted electromagnetic interference (EMI); and even the signal-switching strategies in the tester.
In the new post on Engineers' Insight, Shlomo Avital examines how selecting the right relays for signal switching under test can go a long way to fixing these issues.
