Hello, MozFest Virtual kicks off in less than 2 weeks! On 20-24 March, 360+ sessions running across 8 Spaces and 3 Experiences will bring the most important internet health issues of our digital world to life. If you don’t have your pay-what-you-can ticket yet, secure yours today! I’m particularly excited about the 3 Experiences bringing inspiration and creativity to MozFest Virtual this year! Experiences are highly focused curations that bring to life digital health issues in creative and immersive ways. 3 Experiences At MozFest Virtual 2023 | Radical Inclusion Can the internet and AI be shaped to accommodate the diversity of humanity? The Radical Inclusion experience invites you to shift your point of view. Through audiovisual activities, storytelling, and much more, we will facilitate connections that explore how our ability, neurodivergence, language, and culture impact how we move through the digital world. | | AI Cosmologies The omnipresence of AI propels us faster and further into a liminal dimension between the physical and the digital. Our (id)entities, perceptions, and realities are rapidly marked and shaped by this third space – as we make these systems they too make us. How might our encounters with AI be shaping our personhood, our relationships to each other, and the world? Join us in this introspective yet collective wayfinding experiment exploring the complexities of shapeshifting algorithmic (id)entities and spaces. | Parables Experience How can communities build power and create solutions for themselves in the face of crisis and change? The Parables Experience at MozFest 2023 will illuminate both the roots of systemic oppression AND community-led solutions and strategies in the face of climate catastrophe, criminalization, and exploitation. This experience will feature the work of a diverse range of artists, activists and community organisers who will share the unique intersections of their practices with the themes of Octavia E. Butler’s Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents. Participants will not only hear about the projects but receive prompts that guide practical applications and agency to their everyday lives. There will be a range of synchronous and self-guided exploratory experiences from live conversations to workshops and a virtual online Parable Pavilion. Are you ready to experience the world’s largest festival for internet health in just a few short weeks? See you soon! Sarah Allen Mozilla Festival Director |
