CDI professionals don't have much wiggle room in applying the rules. In fact, they have more rules to adhere to than many other professions, and those rules can seem complex and at times even conflicting. Those new to the profession, however, may feel like they've entered a morass.

ACDIS is here to help. In fact, the latest edition of the CDI Journal is titled “Following the Rules: Regulatory updates for CDI professionals.” In its pages, ACDIS members can find a wide-range of information related to healthcare coding and reimbursement rules—from changes included in the 2020 inpatient prospective payment system final rule to updates to the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting, from changes to CC/MCCs to CDI programs’ efforts in relation to population health. It also includes breaking news in the form of a joint ACDIS/AHIMA release of FAQs on query best practices and consensus recommendations jointly published by ACDIS, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition for optimizing electronic health records for nutrition care.

We hope you enjoy this complimentary peek at the latest edition of the Journal. ACDIS members can also obtain one continuing education credit toward the Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) credential for each edition of the Journal.
