Embracing — and prioritizing — opportunity

Adeola Ajani, the founder of 2023 RealLIST Startup Fem Equity, recently shared a cool LinkedIn post about her experience attending a tech-focused event. During the event — Black Tech Week in Cincinnati — she had the opportunity to ask a question of the successful entrepreneur and artist Issa Rae after being selected from the audience. Ajani seized the opportunity to ask a thought-provoking query of Rae, who provided her with valuable advice on prioritizing strategic opportunities despite time limitations.

Throughout the event, Ajani said, she networked with a diverse group of professionals, reconnected with old friends and even had the chance to pitch her company to Inc. Magazine editors. This experience beyond her comfort zone expanded her network and opened up possibilities for potential collaborations, partnerships and mentorships.

Moreover, the event provided Ajani with a unique platform to celebrate and connect with professionals in the tech and entrepreneurship fields. Embracing opportunities beyond her city and comfort zone proved to be a pivotal step in her journey as a technologist, leaving her with valuable connections and an unforgettable experience that will shape her career and entrepreneurial pursuits positively.

Have you ever stepped out of your comfort zone to embrace crucial opportunities? Or have to figure out the right way to prioritize them, as Rae recommended to Ajani? Let us know by replying to this email.
