June 2019
2089 European PSPs have already joined the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst) scheme which includes the great majority of the German (87%), Austrian (87%) and Spanish (73%) PSPs. Additionally, after having held a three - month public consultation, we have published this month the final version of the white paper on non-Near Field Communication (NFC) based Mobile SEPA Card Proximity Payments (MCPPs). We trust you will enjoy reading the latest publications from the EPC!
The draft MSCT Interoperability Implementation Guidelines (IIGs) (including SCT Inst) were published at the end of May for a three-month public consultation. We interviewed Dag-Inge Flatraaker, the co-chair of the group, to shed some light on the newly published draft guidelines.
In 2017, Banque de France launched MADRE, a project using blockchain to improve the interbank system to enable the exchange of SEPA creditor identifiers between French SEPA Direct Debit (SDD) scheme participants.
In November 2018, the multi-stakeholder group on mobile contactless SEPA card payments (MSG MCP), facilitated by the EPC, has developed a white paper to provide a high level overview of non-NFC based MCPPs, utilising SEPA cards as the underlying payment instrument. Beginning of June, we have published its final version.
