NOVEMBER 2017

21 November 2017, which marks the date of the very first euro instant credit transfers in SEPA, is a major milestone for the European payment community. The SEPA Instant Credit Transfer (SCT Inst) scheme is effective, yet this is just the - promising - beginning of the journey towards instant payments. This Rep(l)ay issue naturally focuses on this new EPC scheme (do not miss our latest infographics about its top benefits and use cases!), and provides a testimony of a Spanish early adopter, and information about the European Central Bank’s TIPs service.

Instant credit transfers are now a reality in eight European countries

Since 21 November, it is possible to transfer up to 15,000 euros in less than ten seconds. 585 PSPs, from eight SEPA countries already participate. In total some 1,000 PSPs – representing close to twenty-five percent of all European PSPs - have already committed to propose SCT Inst-based services by July 2018. And more might reveal their plans in the coming months.

	News 6 November 2017 EPC calls for independent candidates for its Compliance and Adherence Committee (CAC) and its Appeals Committee The CAC (the EPC body responsible for the compliance functions of scheme management) and the Appeals Committee (responsible for handling appeals brought in respect of decisions taken by the CAC) will be partially renewed in 2018.
