As the European Space Agency and the EU firm up decisions on follow-on missions in the Copernicus Earth-observation program, European satellite manufacturers expect to be awarded a total $2.9 billion in contracts for deliveries from 2025-27.

The move means Copernicus, in its current form, has been successful enough for European Space Agency (ESA) member states to fund its continuation at greater-than-expected levels.
