#ConnectwithCAM Art brings us together, no matter the distance How do you #ConnectwithCAM? A mother of Art Explorers students writes, "Our kids are excited and inspired each week by Art Explorers, thanks to Georgia's ability to engage despite the distance!" A regular meditation participant tells us, "Each Monday morning, I find some peace in these troubled times. My cares and anxieties abate for awhile as we focus on breathing and let go of our stress." From art videos, to meditation, to family programs, to lesson plans, to live music, CAM brings the benefits of art directly to you during the COVID-19 crisis. If you've enjoyed these programs, won't you consider donating to CAM today in honor of #GivingTuesdayNow? Due to the COVID-19 crisis, CAM made deep budget cuts. We're working now to ensure CAM's future, but we need your help. #GivingTuesdayNow is an international social media campaign to promote giving, culminating with a day of giving on May 5, 2020. We need to raise $25,000 by June 30. Won't you give to the museum you love so that we can continue to provide programs to our community? You can donate here or on our Facebook page. Art can bring us together, no matter the distance. Art can comfort us, connect us, allow us to share our experiences, and to see our shared humanity and common history. We thank you for your steadfast support and belief in Cameron Art Museum. To connect with CAM online visit our Connect with CAM page or follow us on social media. Learn about upcoming Art Explorer sessions, held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:00 am here. Join us on Mondays at 11:00 for meditation sessions. Find out more here. here.here. e. |

Art Lesson Plans Available for Teachers and Educators Director of Youth and Family Programs Georgia Mastroieni has been busy creating art lesson plans for parents and teachers. These lesson plans, geared for ages 5-12 focus on a particular artist, many drawn from CAM's collection. They are posted on the website on Mondays and Wednesdays, and you can find them here. Each plan includes an artist biography, supply list, step-by-step project instructions, and a sample of the artist's work. Currently, Georgia has created lesson plans focusing on Georges Braque, Alexander Calder, Sonia Delauney, Minnie Evans, Sol Lewitt, Michelangelo, Piet Mondrian, Claude Monet, Wayne Thiebaud, and Andy Warhol for families and teachers to explore.
