The 45th edition of Tourism Australia’s premier event, the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE), will conclude tomorrow in Brisbane / Meanjin. This year, the event, held in partnership with Tourism & Events Queensland, with support from Brisbane Economic Development Agency kicked off on Monday, 28 April 2025. During the event over 1,600 members of the Australian tourism industry met with more than 700 global tourism distributors across around 60,000 one-on-one business appointments. ATE25 also provides international buyers with the opportunity to experience Australia’s tourism offerings first-hand through familiarisations.
As our visitor economy sets a course for a future of sustainable growth, ATE25 has a key role to play in setting us on this path. The latest overseas arrivals figures show that Australia welcomed more than 8 million visitors in the past year and the numbers have been steadily rising on the previous year. As we approach this milestone and look towards a future of sustainable growth the foundations we set and the relationships we develop at ATE are critical to our industry’s success.
Events like ATE are crucial to helping us achieve that as it brings global tourism wholesalers and retailers from around the world to Brisbane to hear from Australian tourism operators about the experiences they have to offer.
