| | | Applications open to attend Australia Marketplace South East Asia and India 2023 | Seller applications are open to attend Australia Marketplace South East Asia 2023 and Australia Marketplace India 2023. Australia Marketplace South East Asia 2023 will take place in Singapore from 19 to 21 July 2023 and Australia Marketplace India 2023 will take place in Bengaluru, India from 23 to27 July. Each event will include two and a half days of pre-scheduled appointments between buyers and sellers as well as networking opportunities. The events will provide an opportunity for the Australian tourism industry to build relationships with product planners and travel decision makers from Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia for the South East Asia event and India for the Indian event. Separate applications must be completed for each event with applications closing on Friday 12 May 2023. |

| | | | Product Development Forum in Singapore | Thirty-nine Singapore trade partners attended a recent Product Development Forum, aimed to provide an update on the latest tourism developments in Australia and further enhance their product knowledge by equipping the agents with new product ideas and the tools to develop innovative, creative holiday itineraries. The event included an update on the upcoming Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE). All eight State and Territoty Tourism Organisations presented updates on their respective states and new products and experiences. Participants provided positive feedback on the session including the interesting ideas presented, how it aided the selection of preferencing for Singapore delegates attending ATE, as well as product development. |
| | Singapore product planners explore South Australia | Tourism Australia and the South Australian Tourism Commission recently hosted a familiarisation trip to explore South Australia. Eight Singapore product planners participated in the 6 day/5 night itinerary which provided a taste of what South Australia has to offer. The trip included exploring Adelaide city, Adelaide Hills, Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island with attractions such as Jurlique Farm, Beerenberg Farm, Handorf, Monarto Safari Park, d'Arenberg, Remarkable Rocks, Seal Bay, Kangaroo Island Spirits and many more. The itinerary provided a range of experiences and soft adventures suitable for people of all ages and included inspection of new properties such as EOS Sky city, Sofitel Adelaide and Oceanview Eco Villas. |

| | | | | ATEC Meeting Place 2023 to take place in South Australia | Adelaide will host the Australian Tourism Export Council's (ATEC's) Meeting Place 2023. The event will take place from 30 October to 1 November 2023. With event partner South Australian Tourism Commission and supported by Adelaide Airport and the Adelaide Economic Development Agency (a subsidiary of the City of Adelaide), Meeting Place will offer three days of B2B events including Young Industry Leaders presentations, thought leading conference program, industry meetings, networking functions as well as a gala finale event featuring the graduation of ATEC's ELITE Young Leaders program, and ATECs Annual Excellence Awards. |
| | Australian Regional Tourism Convention 2023 | Earlybird registration has opened for the 2023 Australian Regional Tourism Convention. The event will take place in Newcastle, New South Wales from 10 to 12 October 2023. The theme of the event is 'Creating the Regional Visitor Economy of the Future'. The three-day program includes a welcome reception followed by the two-day convention, with a convention dinner taking place on the final night. The Convention is a must-attend event for anyone who wishes to contribute to the future of regional tourism in Australia and is tailored for all sectors of the tourism industry. | | | | First Nations Tourism Mentoring Program application deadline extended | The First Nations Tourism Mentoring Program (FNTMP) will provide First Nations tourism businesses around Australia with access to free, tailored and one-on-one mentoring services from experienced tourism industry professionals. The objective of the FNTMP is to strengthen the economic participation of First Nations people in the Australian tourism industry and support First Nations tourism businesses to take advantage of the growing interest and demand from domestic and international visitors. The deadline for experienced First Nations tourism industry professionals and/or community leaders to apply to be mentors has been extended to 28 April. | | National Visitor Survey Results | The National Visitor Survey (NVS) results for January 2023 have been released along with the NVS for 2022. The NVS results provide statistics on how Australians travel within Australia. The January 2023 results saw domestic overnight trips exceed pre pandemic levels for the first time.
