| | | | | TOURISM AUSTRALIA UPDATE | It’s so good to have travel milestones to celebrate once again! The bumper Easter holiday period is well and truly back with so many Australians taking advantage of the public holidays, and there is also a steady increase in the number of international visitors arriving - many of whom are travelling right across the country. Monday also saw the arrival of P&O’s Pacific Explorer through Sydney/Warrane heads, signaling a lifting of the ban on cruise ships in Australian waters that has been in place for just over two years. Prior to the global COVID-19 pandemic, cruise was a multi-billion-dollar industry and a significant part of the visitor economy for many communities around Australia’s coastline. Finally, we will be holding our next Industry Webinar this Friday 22 April at 11am AEST. The webinar will include an update from me – including everything you need to know about the Australian Tourism Exchange 2022, there will be an update from Michael Willard, from Australia’s Department of Home Affairs to talk about how the increase in arrivals and visas is being managed, Eva Seller our RGM, Continental Europe will give an update on where things are at in that part of the world, and Tara Howell, Founder, Blue Derby Pods Ride, will join us to give an operator perspective and update. Register to attend, here. Phillipa Harrison | |
