Indian cricket influencer, Mithali Raj, visits Australia
Mithali Raj, captain of the Indian women's national Test and One Day International cricket team, is visiting Australia this week ahead of the T20 World Cup women's and men's tournaments in 2020. Mithali will be joined by three Indian media titles as she visits Western Australia, Victoria and New South Wales to experience the game and beyond. They will also be experiencing some of Australia’s best food and drink, wildlife encounters, adventure tours and world-class sporting venues. Tourism Australia has also produced a useful report for the tourism industry on India, including information about the economy, culture, behaviour and how industry can leverage increase their share of business from India. Tourism Australia attends Signature Travel Network Conference
TOURISM AUSTRALIA ATTENDS SIGNATURE TRAVEL NETWORK CONFERENCE
Tourism Australia attended the annual Signature Travel Network Conference from 2 to 5 December in Las Vegas. The conference brought over 2,400 travel industry professionals together, including Signature Travel Network advisors, managers, agency owners and preferred industry partners. As Signature Travel Network’s longest standing destination partner, Tourism Australia had the opportunity to share the Come Live our Philausophy campaign with delegates. Tourism Australia also conducted individual appointments with travel advisors, hosted a media roundtable and shared the latest destination news with editors from Travel + Leisure, Luxury Travel Advisor, Travel Market Report and more.
Tasmania on show at the World Fly Fishing Championships
TASMANIA ON SHOW AT THE WORLD FLY FISHING CHAMPIONSHIPS
The World Fly Fishing Championships were recently held in Tasmania. Twenty-three countries and 150 of the world’s best anglers competed in challenging conditions over five days in the rivers outside Launceston and in the lakes of the Central Highlands region. Competitors were mesmerised by Tasmania’s rugged landscapes, incredible wildlife and world class trout fishing. Many of the competitors are staying on to explore further. Tourism Australia supported the event through its Great Fishing Adventures of Australia collective.

The 15th annual awards were attended by over 500 travel industry professionals, key opinion leaders and celebrities and provided attendees with the opportunity to exchange ideas and network. Voyage Magazine is one of the most renowned travel lifestyle magazines in China and provides in-depth travel stories and industry insights to the readers.
