Travellers enticed by Australia’s unique experiences

Following the rollout of Tourism Australia’s UnDiscover Australia campaign across South East Asia, the recent Malaysia International Travel Fair in Penang saw a surge in interest from travellers enquiring about and booking lesser known destinations and experiences in Australia. More than 50,000 visitors attended the fair, which provides visitors with a range of travel packages. Bookings to Australia jumped 10 per cent on last year with a particular increase in interest for regional experiences including Canberra and for self-drive holidays in Tasmania. The UnDiscover Australia campaign, launched in September 2018, aims to challenge stereotypes of Australia among South East Asian travellers by shining a spotlight on some of our more unique and unusual tourism offerings.
