THRIVE 2030 Strategy launches

On 25 March, the Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Dan Tehan, launched THRIVE 2030, Australia’s new long-term national strategy to grow the visitor economy.

The strategy reflects the views of industry, businesses, and state and territory governments, and it incorporates the recommendations of an independent expert panel, led by former Tourism Minister the Hon Martin Ferguson AM.

THRIVE 2030 sets an ambitious yet achievable target to regain pre-pandemic visitor expenditure of $166 billion by 2024, and to grow it to $230 billion by 2030. The Strategy presents a plan for governments and industry to work together to address the challenges created both by COVID-19 and pre-existing structural issues.
