Estate Planning Tips at Year-End

As we come to the end of 2021, and you look ahead to doing your Will and other planning, here are important points to make it go more smoothly.
1. Talk It Over - with family and friends. The fewer surprises in your planning to your family and other loved ones after your death, the less chance there will be for confusion or disputes.
2. Work with an estate attorney - And do this long before you are in a hurry to get your planning done!
3. Update Beneficiary Designations - on IRAs, Life Insurance, and other retirement accounts, as well as bank accounts. Remember, these designations are powerful and usually override anything stated in your Will.

2021 Grants from the Ananda Janaka Foundation 
Here are 2 of the 7 Grants we have given in 2021.

Ananda Meditation Retreat - a new water system! and Ananda History in the making
After more than 50 years, the original water tower at the Meditation Retreat was carefully brought down in 2021, and a new, and better water system was installed. The tanks for the new system can be seen in the first photo (below, right). The Ananda Janaka Foundation was very happy to be able to support this important upgrade for the Retreat.





Crystal Hermitage - a new stairway and handrail!
This project is looking ahead to reopening the Hermitage in the Spring of 2022. A newly poured concrete stairway with handrail begins at the Chapel and goes down to the front door area of the Hermitage - making it easier to walk through the lovely Hermitage gardens. This important project will be completed in the fall of 2021.

You can now Donate directly to the Ananda Endowment fund on the Ananda Janaka website homepage. Building this Endowment fund allows us to give Grants that support needed projects in many areas of Ananda.
